Elephant caves, Maharashtra

Situated near Bhubaneswar in the state of odisha. These caves are famous for its 33 rock cut Chambers that showcase Hindu and Jain scriptures and paintings. The caves date back to the golden age of Gupta period of about 350-550. A 5 feet tall statue of Vishnu's boar avtar is the most famous sculpture in this cave.
Bagh caves, Madhya Pradesh
Situated at the banks of the Baghani river in Madhya Pradesh at the foot of the vindhyachal ranges. These are a set of 9 rock-cut structure. These rock cut caves are the finest example of ancient Indian art. The interiors of the caves are often called as Rang Mahal due to all the amazing paintings lining the cave walls full. It is believed that these caves were built by Buddhist monk dataka in late 4th century-6th century A.D.
